    Answer:

    Light first enters the eye through a transparent layer called cornea. The cornea focus the light through an opening called the pupil. From the pupil, the light then hits the lens which inverts the image and projects it onto the retina. The retina contains numerous receptor cells called rods and cones which generate and send nerve impulses to the brain via the optic nerve.
